Introduce your child to the process of creating with clay. Each child will make projects using basic techniques in clay such as pinch, coil, and slab and throwing on the wheel. A Storybook theme will be used every week for inspiration. A book will be read and discussed with the class and a project will be made with the story in mind. For example: If the book is on bee keeping, the children will create a project based on the idea of bees. No materials or tools are required.
Surface Decoration & Design

This new and exciting class will focus on the possibilities for finishing and decorating your pots. Students will learn about slips, glazes, a variety of application techniques and transfers. The class will be focused on cone 10 glazes and possibilities, however many of the techniques will be applicable for cone 6 and low fire as well. So bring your bisque ware and take the time to experiment, explore and enjoy the art of glazing.
Clay Sculpting from the Model
